The Faculty of Engineering of the Slovak University of Applied Sciences in Nitra opened its doors to prospective students and the public on February 12. The Open Day is traditionally a great opportunity for future mechanical engineers to get to know the academic environment of the faculty, laboratories, and to get acquainted with study programs and modern technologies.
"Our faculty, with almost 60 years of tradition, has educated thousands of successful graduates. We are pleased that we regularly rank in the top twenty in the evaluation of 120 faculties in Slovakia from the perspective of employers; in the November evaluation of last year, we took sixth place. The quality of our faculty is also evidenced by the recent excellent result of the student satisfaction survey, which represents key feedback for us and a commitment to the future," said the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Roman Gálik. He added that there is currently a "hunger for graduates with a technical focus" and companies offer them various benefits. “Our graduates are not looking for work, but work is looking for them, and many find employment during their studies,” the dean emphasized.
The study programs offered by the faculty were recently evaluated by experts from practice. “The faculty offers six bachelor’s study programs, one of which is in English - automotive transport, quality and safety in production technologies, Machinery Trading and Business, equipment operation management, control systems in production technology, production technologies for the automotive industry. From September, other professionally oriented programs will be added to them - mechatronics, agriculture and forestry, process engineer for the automotive industry,” informed the vice-dean for education and accreditation of study programs, associate professor Ján Kosiba.
The faculty also provided a rich program for the open day in cooperation with Agrion - the Association of Agricultural Equipment Suppliers, as well as with representatives of the automotive industry. Interested parties were able to view the most modern agricultural equipment and passenger cars. Traditionally, interest was also aroused by the car accident simulator - a training device used to demonstrate the importance of seat belts in a crash, which is offered by the Academy Driving School as part of the education.
